Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Purchasing Clerk to support the purchasing and supply chain functions within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for processing purchase orders, maintaining vendor records, tracking deliveries, and supporting inventory and cost control efforts. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
Create, process, and maintain purchase orders in ERP or purchasing systems
Communicate with vendors regarding order status, pricing, and delivery schedules
Track incoming materials and follow up on late or incomplete shipments
Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor files, and documentation
Assist with invoice matching (PO, packing slip, invoice) and resolve discrepancies
Support inventory replenishment and material availability for production
Coordinate with receiving, warehouse, and production teams
Update item, pricing, and vendor information in systems as needed
Assist with reporting on purchasing activity, spend, and supplier performance
Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or administrative support
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with ERP or purchasing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics)
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field
Experience with inventory control or materials planning
Familiarity with manufacturing terminology and processes
Ability to work with multiple vendors and product lines
