Accountant – Public & Tax Accounting Focus
Location: Shreveport, LA
Pay: $22–$28/hr (Depending on Experience and Credentials)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant with a strong background in public accounting and tax preparation. This role is ideal for candidates who are Enrolled Agents, CPA-eligible, or actively pursuing CPA certification. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of recent experience in a public accounting or tax-focused environment and be comfortable managing multiple client accounts and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients and internal reporting
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
Oversee general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Assist with audit preparation, including documentation and client support
Conduct tax research and stay current on changes in tax laws and accounting standards
Maintain and update client financial records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality
Collaborate with senior accountants and partners on complex financial matters
Provide client advisory services and respond to inquiries regarding tax and financial issues
Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years experience in public accounting or tax accounting
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
Enrolled Agent (EA) designation or CPA eligibility strongly preferred
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, Lacerte, UltraTax)
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
High level of integrity and professionalism
