Position Title: Property Management Specialist

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Property Management Specialist to support the daily operations of affordable housing communities, including Tax Credit (LIHTC) and HUD-regulated properties. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of compliance regulations, resident relations, leasing, recertifications, and occupancy requirements while maintaining excellent customer service and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations of Tax Credit and HUD communities.
Process annual and interim recertifications in compliance with HUD and LIHTC guidelines.
Verify resident income, assets, and eligibility documentation.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local affordable housing regulations.
Prepare and organize tenant files for audits and inspections.
Assist with leasing activities including applications, move-ins, renewals, and move-outs.
Provide exceptional customer service to residents, vendors, and staff.
Monitor rent collections, delinquency reports, and occupancy levels.
Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up to ensure timely completion.
Ensure accurate data entry within property management software systems.
Support property inspections and ensure community standards are maintained.
Communicate professionally with residents regarding policies, compliance, and community matters.
Qualifications
Previous experience in affordable housing, property management, Tax Credit, or HUD communities preferred.
Knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and affordable housing regulations.
Experience with annual recertifications and compliance documentation.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, RealPage, or similar systems.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications are a plus.
Preferred Skills
COS, TCS, HCCP, or other affordable housing certifications preferred.
Experience working with diverse resident populations.
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with site teams.
Work Environment
Office and onsite community environment.
May require occasional travel between properties.
