Property Accounting Associate

We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accounting Associate to support day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of properties. This hybrid direct hire opportunity is based in Charleston, SC and offers the chance to join a collaborative accounting team in a growing environment.
This role is responsible for supporting property-level accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, tenant ledger maintenance, reporting preparation, and monthly close support. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, accurate, and comfortable working within accounting systems and managing large volumes of financial data.
Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash activity, and journal entries
Maintain tenant ledgers and assist with lease-related billing support
Prepare bank reconciliations and monthly accounting schedules
Support monthly close processes and financial reporting preparation
Ensure accurate GL coding and documentation aligned with GAAP standards
Review and maintain data integrity within the RAAMP accounting system
Communicate with Property Managers regarding invoices, payments, and documentation
Assist with audits, lender requests, budgeting support, and year-end reporting
Identify and escalate data discrepancies or workflow issues as needed
Qualifications
Prior accounting, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or property accounting experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable working with accounting systems and financial data
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of GAAP principles preferred
