Real Estate & Property Management | In-Office (Mon–Fri, 9–5)
Our client, a well-established and growing real estate and property management firm, is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team. This role supports a diverse portfolio including commercial, industrial, residential, and affordable housing properties.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys being in the details while also contributing to the overall financial health of the portfolio. The right person will be organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a steady, team-oriented environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage day-to-day accounting for a property portfolio, including A/P, A/R, and tenant ledgers
- Perform bank and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded
- Support month-end close, including financial reporting, account analysis, and reconciliations
- Prepare reports for ownership, investors, and internal leadership
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting alongside the Controller
- Support audit preparation and maintain organized financial documentation
- Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations across properties
What They’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of bookkeeping or property accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with Yardi (Voyager preferred)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger activity
- Experience with accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Property management or real estate accounting experience required
- Affordable housing experience is a plus
