Property Accountant
Real Estate & Property Management | AppleOne Accounting & Finance

Position Summary
AppleOne is recruiting a Property Accountant to support the financial operations of multiple real estate assets and the corporate entity. This role is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining accounting records, and supporting reporting and compliance activities. Reporting to the Controller, the Property Accountant will play an integral role in property level accounting, reconciliations, and tenant financial activity.
This opportunity is well suited for an accounting professional with property management or real estate experience who thrives in a detail driven, multi property environment.

What You’ll Do
Core Accounting Responsibilities
• Maintain day to day accounting records and general ledger integrity in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and post recurring and ad hoc journal entries with attention to accuracy and completeness
• Execute monthly and annual close activities, including reconciliations, variance reviews, and reporting schedules
• Assist with the preparation of company wide and property specific financial statements
• Provide ongoing support to the Controller for financial reporting, audits, tax documentation, and compliance needs

Accounts Payable & Tenant Accounting
• Oversee the accounts payable lifecycle, including coordination with internal and third party AP resources
• Review and process vendor invoices, research discrepancies, and track payment status
• Partner with property management teams to maintain accurate tenant ledgers
• Post monthly billing, apply tenant payments, and process ledger adjustments when required

Reconciliations & Financial Controls
• Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, tenant balances, credit cards, and intercompany activity
• Maintain alignment between subledgers and the general ledger
• Identify inconsistencies, research root causes, and implement corrective entries as needed

Qualifications
Education
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required
Experience
• 2 plus years of accounting experience, preferably supporting:
o Property management portfolios
o Real estate or multi entity organizations
o General Ledger & Journal Entries
o Account & Bank Reconciliations
o Financial Reporting & Analysis
o Vendor & Tenant Accounting
o Data Accuracy & Internal Controls

Technical & Systems Skills
• Solid understanding of GAAP principles and accounting procedures
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reporting)
• Familiarity with property management or accounting software strongly preferred
o AppFolio experience is a plus
o QuickBooks Online experience is a plus
