Senior Property Accountant

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to support a growing real estate portfolio. This role is responsible for full-cycle property accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring accuracy across multiple entities and properties. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced property management environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
Analyze variances and provide insight into financial performance
Coordinate and support month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare CAM reconciliations and tenant billings (if applicable)
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit support
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Partner with property managers and operations teams to support financial needs

Qualifications:

4+ years of property accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience managing multiple properties or entities
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment

Software & Systems:

Yardi (Voyager strongly preferred)
MRI Software
AppFolio
RealPage / OneSite
Entrata
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs or equivalent)

Additional Details:

Experience with commercial, multifamily, or mixed-use portfolios preferred
CAM reconciliation experience is a plus
CPA or CPA track is a plus
