Pay Range: $23.04 – $26.74 per hour (TUSD salary range; based on experience) ?
Position Overview
Tucson Unified School District’s Bond Program is seeking a Project Technical Specialist to help track and support district bond projects. This role works closely with the Bond Program Manager, entering and tracking requisitions and invoices, and monitoring projects from beginning to end using project-management tools such as Smartsheet. The position supports TUSD’s mission to provide excellent, equitable educational experiences for all students. ?
Key Responsibilities
• Enter and track purchase requisitions in the district financial system
• Process and monitor vendor/contractor invoices
• Help manage projects from initiation through completion using project-management software (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project)
• Maintain accurate electronic records, logs, and spreadsheets for bond projects
• Prepare basic project reports and status updates as requested
• Coordinate with the Bond Program Manager, schools, and other departments to gather information and resolve issues
• Assist with meeting logistics, including preparing agendas, documenting minutes, and tracking action items
Minimum Requirements ?
• Bachelor’s degree in a project-related field AND at least 1 year of project-related experience
OR
5 years of project-related experience in lieu of a degree
• Proficiency with word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Office or similar)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to follow written, graphical, and verbal instructions

Preferred Qualifications ?
• Familiarity with PMBOK project-management standards
• Completion of at least one project-management course
• Experience using Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar tools
• Experience preparing agendas, minutes, and action-item lists
Additional Requirements After Hire ?
• FBI fingerprint background check
• Proof of immunity to measles and rubella, or proof of MMR vaccination

• FTE: 1.0 (full-time, 8 hours/day)
• Work Calendar: 12 months
• Positions less than 30 hours/week are not eligible for district benefits (this role is full-time and benefit-eligible through TUSD)
