                            We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee and manage the financial and operational performance of multiple construction projects. This role requires close coordination with clients, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Located in San Marcos, CA. Full time, Monday-Friday. HYBRID/REMOTE (Preferably 2 days a week in office). $85,000-$110,000 DOE
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, an effective communicator, and experienced in navigating complex construction projects from start-up to close-out.
Key Responsibilities:
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT
-Lead projects from start-up through close-out.
-Review contracts, manage project budgets, and ensure accurate cost control.
-Prepare and manage client invoicing, change orders, RFIs, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports.
CLIENT & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
-Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
-Schedule and lead kickoff calls, regular client updates, and status meetings.
-Resolve disputes with clients, contractors, and vendors professionally and effectively.
SUBCONTRACTOR & VENDOR COORDINATION
-Manage and release vendors for material procurement and fabrication.
-Oversee subcontractors and ensure all project requirements are met.
-Collaborate with detailers, estimators, and superintendents to ensure smooth project execution.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
-Work closely with Project Developers, Superintendents, and Project Administrators.
-Provide technical support to estimating and development teams to ensure accurate proposals.
-Partner with accounting, operations, and other departments for reporting and invoicing.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
-High School Diploma required.
-Experience as a project manager in construction industry (commercial preferred)
-Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
-2+ years of project management experience in government, DSA, or military construction preferred.
-Knowledge of alternative contracts and delivery methods a plus.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
-Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to “lead without authority.”
-Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents.
-General construction accounting knowledge and strong math skills.
-Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution.
-Proficient in project management and financial software, spreadsheets, and scheduling tools.
-Ability to manage multiple projects across varying size, scope, and location.
Physical & Work Environment:
-Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and navigate active construction sites.
-Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
-Exposure to both office and construction site environments (indoor and outdoor conditions).
-Valid California Driver’s License required; travel to job sites as needed (approx. 2 days per month).
