Job Summary

A growing affordable housing and multifamily real estate development organization in Los Angeles is seeking a Project Manager to support the full lifecycle of impactful housing projects. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a real estate development professional who wants to contribute to meaningful community-focused projects while working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

The Project Manager will partner closely with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders on affordable housing developments from site acquisition, financing, and entitlements through construction, lease-up, and move-in. This role offers exposure to a large development pipeline, including more than 1,000 affordable housing units in various phases, and provides a strong career path for someone who enjoys project coordination, financial analysis, public agency interaction, and community development.

Key Responsibilities

- Support senior managers across the full development lifecycle of affordable and multifamily housing projects, including acquisition, financing, construction, lease-up, and handover.
- Coordinate with external consultants, architects, engineers, legal counsel, public agencies, and internal stakeholders to keep projects moving forward.
- Assist with request for proposal responses, entitlement processes, funding applications, subsidy submissions, and project documentation.
- Monitor construction progress, review project schedules, track milestones, and communicate updates to leadership and project teams.
- Prepare community meeting presentations, project status reports, grant materials, and technical writing for funding and subsidy applications.
- Coordinate with property management teams to support smooth building transitions, final lease-up, and resident move-in activities.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $150,000 to $200,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support affordable housing and multifamily development projects from site acquisition through construction completion and lease-up.
- Manage project schedules, stakeholder coordination, entitlement processes, funding applications, and development documentation.
- Assist with financial analysis, project reporting, grant writing, subsidy applications, and permanent loan closing activities.
- Serve as a liaison between consultants, architects, engineers, legal counsel, public agencies, community stakeholders, and property management teams.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant project management, real estate development, affordable housing, urban planning, construction, or related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, urban planning, finance, architecture, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with technical writing, grant applications, subsidy applications, or public funding documentation.
- Understanding of local entitlement processes, community relations, and public agency coordination.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, consultants, and project deliverables.
- Professional judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with affordable housing, multifamily development, LIHTC projects, public financing, or real estate development finance.
- Familiarity with Los Angeles area entitlement, permitting, community meeting, or public agency processes.
- Experience supporting projects through construction monitoring, lease-up, permanent loan closing, or building handover.
- Background working with architects, engineers, legal teams, consultants, lenders, or property management teams in a development environment.
