Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Project Manager to lead complex equipment and system projects for a client of ours within the food industry. In this role, you will manage the full project lifecycle—from initial handoff through delivery, installation, and close-out—ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to customer specifications.
This is a highly cross-functional role requiring strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Review final sales quotes, cost estimates, purchase orders, and technical specifications to identify and resolve commercial and technical issues
Set up and manage projects and sales orders within SAP
Lead project kick-off meetings and provide clear documentation and meeting notes
Develop and manage project schedules using SAP and Microsoft Project
Procure specialized equipment and controls; negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors
Track equipment through engineering, manufacturing, testing, and shipment phases
Coordinate with vendors and conduct site visits as needed to ensure project milestones are met
Provide regular project updates through meetings and SAP reporting tools
Support field service teams during installation, start-up, and commissioning
Manage scope, schedule, and specification changes post handoff from sales
Monitor project costs, analyze variances, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Lead project close-out meetings to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities
Coordinate with customers and field teams to manage punch lists and warranty-related items
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience within the food or manufacturing industry
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Microsoft Project, and SAP
Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly, system layout, and electrical drawings
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel 10–20% as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with food processing equipment or similar industrial machinery
Familiarity with CRM systems and AutoCAD viewer tools
Bilingual skills are a plus
