Job Summary

A direct hire opportunity is available for a Project Engineer - Multi Family in Seattle, WA. This role supports apartment construction projects with a strong focus on documentation, coordination, BIM file management, RFIs, change orders, submittals, permits, and communication between the field, office, customers, and project stakeholders.

This is a great fit for a detail-oriented construction or mechanical engineering professional who enjoys being close to the work, supporting field teams, and helping projects stay organized, accurate, and on schedule. The environment is collaborative and team-focused, with regular interaction across project management, purchasing, foremen, general contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and design consultants.

The Project Engineer - Multi Family will play an important role in keeping plumbing-related project scope, documentation, deliverables, and closeout requirements moving efficiently from preconstruction through completion.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate project documentation, field communication, and customer-facing support for multi-family apartment construction projects.
- Manage submittals, RFIs, change order requests, permits, logs, approvals, revisions, and external project documents.
- Support BIM coordination by attending meetings, managing files, and tracking shop drawings, Trimble files, and prefabrication documents.
- Visit job sites weekly to communicate with foremen, monitor progress, discuss issues, and support project execution.
- Work with project and purchasing teams to ensure fixtures, equipment, and required materials are ordered accurately and delivered on time.
- Support project closeout, including punch lists, O&M documents, record drawings, warranty letters, and lessons learned.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Coordinate multi-family construction project documentation, communication, and deliverables.
- Manage RFIs, change order requests, submittals, permits, logs, and project records.
- Support BIM coordination, file management, shop drawings, Trimble files, and prefabrication documentation.
- Track project progress, plumbing scope completion, budget information, closeout items, and warranty-related follow-up.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant project engineering, construction coordination, mechanical engineering, or MEP project support experience.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineered drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Bluebeam, Autodesk, and related project documentation tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with field teams, general contractors, owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and design consultants.
- Excellent organization, time management, task tracking, and attention to detail.
- Ability to research, prepare, price, and track RFIs and change order requests.
- Comfortable visiting active construction sites and using required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, and move items up to 30 pounds and navigate stairs, ladders, and varied job-site terrain as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting multi-family, apartment, or residential construction projects.
- Familiarity with plumbing scope coordination, MEP documentation, or mechanical construction workflows.
- Experience with BIM coordination meetings, Trimble files, shop drawings, and prefabrication documentation.
- Prior experience coordinating permits, site logistics, punch lists, closeout documents, O&M manuals, record drawings, and warranty items.
