Job Summary

We are seeking a Project Engineer, Metal Framing Systems for a direct hire opportunity in Chino, CA. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in custom metal fabrication, project coordination, and hands-on collaboration with production teams.

The Project Engineer, Metal Framing Systems will manage custom projects from start to finish, working closely with clients, internal teams, and shop personnel to support accurate planning, documentation, and production execution. This is a great opportunity for an early-career professional with 1 to 2 years of experience, or someone coming from a fast-paced environment who has the aptitude and motivation to learn project management within a manufacturing setting.

This position offers a collaborative shop and office environment with regular interaction on the production floor. Candidates who enjoy teamwork, problem-solving, learning new systems, and seeing projects move from concept through completion will be a strong fit. Key Responsibilities

- Meet with clients and internal teams to understand custom project requirements and specifications.
- Manage individual custom projects from start to finish, ensuring timelines, details, and documentation are maintained.
- Transfer project data into workable formats for production, planning, and internal use.
- Create and maintain project plans, simple design documentation, and modification details.
- Coordinate with shop personnel through regular shop walks to support production schedules and project accuracy.
- Balance multiple fast-paced projects while maintaining attention to detail and deadline commitments.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Pay range: $27.00 to $33.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage custom metal framing or manufacturing projects from initial requirements through completion.
- Create project plans, simple design documentation, and production-related modification details.
- Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and shop personnel to keep projects moving on schedule.
- Support weekly production schedules through accurate documentation and organized project tracking.

- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred, with openness to candidates who show strong aptitude and desire to learn.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Solid organizational skills and follow-through.
- Good communication skills for working with clients, office teams, and shop employees.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new software.
- General understanding of metals, metal fabrication, manufacturing, or shop environments is helpful.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in metal fabrication, welding, metal framing systems, or custom manufacturing.
- Prior project coordination, project engineering, or project management experience.
- Comfortable walking the shop floor and communicating with production employees.
- Ability to read, interpret, or support basic design or fabrication documentation.
