Job Summary

A local construction company in Charleston, SC is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to support active industrial facilities and infrastructure construction projects. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented project administration professional who enjoys organizing documentation, coordinating communication, and helping Project Managers keep projects moving efficiently.

The Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, architects, owners, and general contractors to ensure project records, submittals, RFIs, closeout documents, and correspondence are accurate, complete, and distributed on time. This role offers a stable opportunity with a collaborative construction team, supportive leadership, and a work environment where strong organization, follow-through, and communication make a direct impact on project success.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate day-to-day project documentation and administrative support for active construction projects.
- Manage the transmission, tracking, and organization of submittals, RFIs, potential change orders, directives, and related project correspondence.
- Maintain accurate project records, including as-builts, accepted submittals, testing requirements, compliance documents, and closeout materials.
- Prepare and organize job-specific O&M manuals and collect subcontractor O&M manuals for project closeout.
- Ensure emails, memos, faxes, conversation notes, and project updates are promptly distributed to appropriate internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support Project Managers with reports, schedules, document control, and other construction-related coordination tasks as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $60,000 to $75,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Coordinate project documentation for active construction projects.
- Track submittals, RFIs, potential change orders, directives, and closeout documents.
- Support Project Managers with daily project coordination, reporting, and communication.
- Maintain accurate construction records and distribute project correspondence.

- 1-3 years of related construction experience required.
- Experience with project coordination, document control, project administration, or construction office support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong knowledge of effective record keeping, document management, and professional written communication.
- Ability to coordinate, organize, schedule, and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.
- Ability to assemble information, maintain logs, prepare reports, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, customers, architects, owners, and general contractors.
- Sound judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, and a commitment to meeting work commitments.
- Ability to learn routine computer applications and follow company and department policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

- Construction industry knowledge or prior experience supporting industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or general construction projects.
- Familiarity with construction closeout processes, O&M manuals, as-builts, compliance documents, submittals, RFIs, and change order documentation.
- 3-5 years of project coordination or construction project administration experience.
