About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Project Accountant with construction industry experience to join our client's team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the financial health of assigned projects, from processing invoices and subcontractor payments to preparing forecasts and ensuring compliance. You’ll partner closely with project managers and executives to keep projects on track financially while supporting a collaborative and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee accounting functions for assigned construction projects, including invoices, payments, and compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate forecasts, budgets, and cost-to-complete updates.
• Process vendor invoices, subcontractor pay applications, and owner billing packages accurately and on time.
• Track Notices to Owners (NTOs), lien releases, and subcontractor compliance requirements.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve inquiries from subcontractors and project teams.
• Prepare weekly check runs and subcontractor payment packages.
• Monitor financial risks and discrepancies, reporting findings to management.
• Support project closeout processes, including change orders and final budget updates.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of construction accounting experience (required).
• Knowledge of construction cost accounting, AIA billing, and lien release requirements.
• Familiarity with ERP/accounting software (Acumatica preferred); experience with Timberscan a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Ability to travel to jobsites as needed.
