Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join a growing ground-up commercial construction General Contractor based in Deerfield Beach. This individual will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of multiple construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle project accounting for multiple ground-up construction projects
Prepare and maintain job cost reports, budgets, and forecasts
Process subcontractor invoices, lien releases, and vendor payments
Handle AIA billing, progress billings, and client invoicing
Track project costs, commitments, and change orders
Reconcile project accounts and support month-end and year-end close processes
Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and field teams
Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and accounting standards
Requirements:
5+ years of Project Accounting experience within a construction General Contractor environment (ground-up projects required)
Strong experience with construction accounting software such as Procore, CMiC, Sage (300/Intacct), or similar systems
Solid understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, and construction financials
Experience with AIA billing and subcontractor management
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Preferred:
Experience working on commercial ground-up projects
Familiarity with South Florida construction market
Location Requirement:
Ideal candidate will be local to Broward County and able to work on-site in Deerfield Beach
