Now Hiring: Project Accountant – Commercial Construction

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 (100% Onsite)
Salary: $80,000 – $85,000/year
Schedule: Monday–Friday

We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our team and play a vital role in managing the financial aspects of commercial construction projects. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in construction cost accounting who is committed to delivering accurate and timely financial reporting while ensuring smooth project operations.

Responsibilities

Review and process project contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and agreements to ensure compliance

Manage job cost invoices and subcontractor billings with accuracy and efficiency

Collaborate with legal and compliance teams on contract and compliance matters

Maintain well-organized physical and digital records of all project documentation

Reconcile monthly inventories and analyze material usage

Track and process all project costs including equipment, materials, and supplies

Handle project closeouts, including reconciliations, financial status reports, and final invoices

Oversee time and effort reporting systems to ensure compliance

Review entries and reconciliations prepared by support staff

Ensure timely and accurate payments to subcontractors and suppliers

Generate financial statements and reports for project transparency

Assist with month-end closings and other reporting deadlines

Contribute to special projects and additional accounting functions as needed

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
Minimum 3 years of commercial construction accounting experience
Strong knowledge of construction cost accounting principles
Proficiency in Sage 300 and Procore
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with close attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
