Immediate need for an experience Program Associate with a non-profit organization in the Sacramento area. This position will assist the Public Affairs department and interface with other departments in the handling of the following:
Public Affairs & Policy
Contribute to the development and execution of the foundation’s public affairs and policy strategies
Coordinate and support meetings and relationships with policymakers, government partners, and grantees
Support planning and execution of events, convenings, learning sessions, and briefings related to policy and public affairs initiatives in collaboration with internal and external teams and partners
Draft and review issue memos, talking points, and other materials as needed
Grantmaking Support
Assist with public affairs and communications grant and contract making and administration, including key aspects of the process (reviewing proposals, due diligence, GMS processing), invoices/payments processing and budget tracking
Serve as a point of contact with grantees and contractors as needed
Communications
Draft, edit and review content and/or communications materials for various internal and external audiences and a range of communications platforms
Support message development and narrative framing on policy and programmatic priorities
Support development and execution of internal workflows in collaboration with the team.
Candidates should also have the following skills and experience:
Experience in public affairs, policy, communications, or government
Strong experience in drafting policy and other communications materials for internal or external audiences
Strong understanding of policy, health systems, and the policymaking process and environment
Experience with grantmaking and contract management
