We are seeking a dependable Production Technician for a contract opportunity in Wyandotte, MI supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This hands-on role is ideal for candidates with production, assembly, or machine operation experience who enjoy working with equipment, following structured processes, and contributing to safe, high-quality output.
This Production Technician position offers steady onsite work, a structured rotating schedule, and the opportunity to build experience in a safety-focused production environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, start up, shut down, and maintain normal operation of production equipment, including de-flashing units.
- Perform equipment and product changeovers while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Move materials from inspection and assembly lines to staging areas using carts and electric pallet jacks.
- Use pneumatic and electric tools, bin lifters, air wands, scan guns, HMI systems, and other production equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform routine safety checks, and support problem-solving on the production floor.
- Follow standard operating procedures, maintain accurate production records, and support a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $20.50 per hour.
- Employment type: Contract.
- Work setting: 100% onsite in Wyandotte, MI.
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts.
- Day shift: 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM, rotating days.
- Sunday day shift: 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM, rotating Sundays.
- Night shift: 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM, rotating days.
- Sunday night shift: 10:45 PM to 6:45 AM, rotating Sundays.
- Candidates must be flexible to work rotating schedules.
- Support manufacturing and production operations across the facility.
- Operate and monitor production equipment while following safety and quality procedures.
- Perform material movement, equipment changeovers, and basic troubleshooting.
- Enter accurate production information using HMI systems and electronic databases.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 to 3 years of production or manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Basic math skills and ability to use measurement tools such as rulers and gauges.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use HMI systems and electronic production records.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures, safety instructions, and production documentation.
- Functional English communication and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, dependability, and accountability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing production priorities.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and sit for extended periods when required.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Machine operation experience preferred.
- Assembly or assembly line experience preferred.
- Experience using electric pallet jacks, scan guns, pneumatic tools, electric tools, or similar production equipment preferred.
- Prior experience in a chemicals, petro-chemicals, or regulated manufacturing environment is a plus.
