Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Production Technician for a contract opportunity in Wyandotte, MI. This hands-on manufacturing role supports daily production operations in a fast-paced chemicals and petro-chemicals environment, with responsibility for equipment operation, material movement, quality support, and safe production practices.

This is a strong opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, production, machine operation, or assembly experience who want to build their skills in a structured, team-oriented facility. Key Responsibilities

- Operate, monitor, start up, shut down, and maintain manufacturing equipment according to standard operating procedures.
- Perform equipment changeovers and support de-flashing units while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Move materials from production and assembly lines to staging areas for warehouse transfer using approved production tools and equipment.
- Read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production requirements to ensure consistent output.
- Enter production data into HMI and plant database systems accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while participating in inspections, safety initiatives, and team meetings.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $20.50 to $21.50 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Location: Wyandotte, MI.
- Day shift: 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM on a rotating schedule.
- Rotating Sundays, day shift: 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM.
- Night shift: 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM on a rotating schedule.
- Rotating Sundays, night shift: 10:45 PM to 6:45 AM.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support all areas of the production facility to help meet daily manufacturing goals.
- Operate manufacturing equipment, production tools, electric pallet jacks, carts, pneumatic tools, bin lifters, and scan guns.
- Troubleshoot production and equipment issues independently and with team members.
- Follow safety procedures, wear required PPE, and contribute to a safe, efficient work environment.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 to 3 years of manufacturing or production experience required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and production issues.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to enter data into production systems.
- Basic math skills and ability to use measuring devices such as rulers and gauges.
- Functional English reading and writing skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work rotating day or night shifts, including rotating Sundays.
- Strong communication, organization, time management, attendance, accountability, and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude with a commitment to safety, quality, and adapting to changing production priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Machine operation experience.
- Assembly experience.
- Experience using HMI systems, scan guns, pneumatic tools, or material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment.
