Production Supervisor – Food Manufacturing

About the Role
AppleOne is recruiting an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily operations across Production and Packaging. This hands-on leadership role ensures production efficiency, product quality, food safety compliance, and a strong culture of employee engagement. The ideal candidate has proven experience in food or dairy manufacturing and is ready to take ownership of shift performance, team development, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Production & Operational Leadership
• Supervise production, packaging with a focus on Safety, Quality, Cost, and Productivity.
• Plan and schedule daily work to optimize labor, equipment, and materials.
• Assign and monitor tasks to maximize shift performance and throughput.
• Communicate production goals and performance expectations to employees.
• Coordinate with Logistics to maintain production schedules and order fulfillment.
• Partner with Maintenance to support preventative and corrective activities.
• Identify equipment issues and submit work orders to minimize downtime.
Quality & Food Safety Management
• Enforce GMP, HACCP, FSMA, and company quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000 food safety requirements.
• Conduct in process quality checks (taste, moisture, salt, texture, appearance).
• Inspect incoming packaging materials to ensure specification accuracy.
• Review CCP charts, sanitation logs, production reports, and documentation.
• Investigate nonconformities and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and line efficiency.
Equipment & Process Optimization
• Lead setup, calibration, and adjustments for packaging systems (case formers, labelers, coders, stretch wrappers, tape/glue systems).
• Support improvements in processing methods.
• Facilitate team-based problem-solving and process improvement efforts.
Leadership & Employee Development
• Provide daily leadership, coaching, and mentorship to production employees.
• Train team members and conduct performance evaluations.
• Address employee concerns and administer corrective actions when needed.
• Promote a positive, growth-focused work environment.
• Enforce company policies in partnership with Human Resources.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or a related field OR 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing.
• (Preferred) HACCP and PCQI certifications.
• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor in food or dairy manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSMA, and FSSC 22000 food safety programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with multiple priorities.
