Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Production Packer for a contract/temporary opportunity in Jackson, MI. This night shift role supports the manufacturing and packaging of finished vinyl siding and accessory products in a fast-paced production environment.
The Production Packer plays an important role in maintaining product quality, safe work practices, accurate packaging, and steady line flow. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with production line setup, including stringing the line and preparing packing materials.
- Assemble, glue, label, and number packing boxes accurately for finished vinyl siding products.
- Visually inspect siding panels for color variations, defects, and other quality concerns before packaging.
- Load finished siding boxes onto skids and strap skids securely for warehouse removal.
- Maintain housekeeping, safety, and quality standards throughout assigned production areas.
- Report production issues, restock supplies, monitor hot glue levels, and assist with training other packers as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $19 per hour.
- Job Type: Contract/temporary.
- Location: Jackson, MI 49203.
- Shift: Nights, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Schedule: Rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
- Schedule Pattern: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, continuing rotation.
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend, Friday through Sunday, based on the rotating schedule.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support manufacturing and packaging of finished vinyl siding and accessory products.
- Perform visual quality inspections and identify product defects or color variations.
- Prepare, label, load, and strap finished product packaging for warehouse transfer.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized production areas throughout the shift.
- 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing, production, packaging, or warehouse experience preferred for this experience level.
- Ability to safely move heavy objects weighing up to 60 lbs. without assistance from a dolly, forklift, or another team member.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, move, and lift supplies for prolonged periods.
- Ability to use a hacksaw extensively and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, grip, and pull down skid straps.
- Ability to work in a noisy, dusty vinyl siding manufacturing facility with heat and chemical odors.
- Ability to work 8-12+ hour shifts and the assigned rotating 2-2-3 schedule, including every other weekend.
- Must comply with all required safety procedures and use assigned personal protective equipment, PPE.
- Dependable, quality-focused, safety-minded, and able to follow direction from operators, area leads, and shift leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in vinyl siding, plastics, building products, or similar manufacturing environments.
- Experience with packaging, palletizing, skid strapping, production line support, or visual quality inspection.
- Ability to train or assist other packers in safe and accurate production processes.
