We are seeking a dependable Production Operator for a temp-to-perm opportunity in Sparta, TN. This role is a strong fit for someone with manufacturing experience, forklift skills, and the flexibility to work a rotating 12-hour schedule in a fast-paced production environment.
As a Production Operator, you will help keep daily manufacturing operations running safely, efficiently, and accurately. You will operate equipment, prepare materials, package finished goods, perform quality checks, and support production goals. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production and manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare, stage, load, and move raw materials for production and compounding.
- Package finished products with accurate labels and material identification.
- Perform quality checks, collect samples, and support color testing and inspection processes.
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to move raw materials, finished goods, and scrap.
- Maintain production records, complete inspections and checklists, and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $17 per hour.
- Contract type: Temp-to-perm.
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour schedule.
- Week 1: Work Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 36 hours.
- Week 2: Work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday for 48 hours, including 40 regular hours and 8 overtime hours.
- Shift options: Day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Candidates must be comfortable with rotating workdays, 12-hour shifts, and schedule flexibility from week to week.
- Operate production equipment and auxiliary systems to support safe, efficient manufacturing.
- Prepare, load, move, and package materials throughout the production process.
- Perform routine inspections, quality checks, documentation, and production reporting.
- Assist with troubleshooting, process corrections, and maintaining production quality and volume.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Forklift experience required.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 to 55 lbs and occasionally move objects requiring up to 75 lbs of force.
- Ability to follow production procedures, setup instructions, safety requirements, and ISO/TS16949 standards.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, teamwork, and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to complete required training, audits, inspections, checklists, and production records.
- Additional medical clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production operations, assembly, material handling, or packaging.
- Experience operating forklifts in a production or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with quality control processes, production documentation, and safety-focused manufacturing standards.
