Job Title: Production Operator
Pay Rate: $19.00/hr
Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shift
• Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (48 hours)
• Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (36 hours)
• Off every other weekend
• Shift Time: 6:45 AM – 7:00 PM
Location: Biddle Avenue, Wyandotte, MI 48192
Work Environment: Manufacturing / Production Floor
Job Summary
This role supports daily production operations in a plastics manufacturing facility. The position involves working with machines, handling materials, and helping produce finished products used in the automotive industry. It is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, requiring consistency, safety awareness, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate production machines (extruders)
• Load and mix raw materials for production
• Monitor machines to ensure smooth and safe operation
• Check finished products for quality and accuracy
• Package and label completed products
• Follow safety rules and company procedures at all times
• Work with team members to meet daily production goals
• Assist with forklift operations if needed
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to work long shifts and follow a rotating schedule
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to learn new processes through training
• Ability to work under time constraints and meet production targets
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
• Manufacturing environment operating 24/7
• Long shifts (12 hours) with extended standing and movement
• Handling raw materials and finished products
• Exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial conditions
• Occasional forklift operation possible
