Job Title: Production Operations Manager

Role Summary
The Production Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating administrative and operational support functions across multiple, concurrent production programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the successful execution of bus remanufacturing, interior rehabilitation, accident and fire repair, and alternative fuel conversion projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, production planning expertise, and cross-functional coordination skills to drive schedule adherence, cost control, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution

Lead production scheduling and daily operational activities across multiple projects with multiple units per program.
Develop and manage weekly manpower plans, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet production and delivery commitments.
Monitor work order workflows to ensure materials, inventory, and supplies are available to maintain uninterrupted production.
Ensure Bills of Material (BOMs) are issued, allocated, and aligned with project requirements.

Inventory, Logistics & Delivery Coordination
Oversee nationwide movement and tracking of bus inventory.
Coordinate scheduling and delivery of completed units to meet customer and contractual timelines.
Accept incoming units and ensure accurate preparation and release of work orders.

Reporting, Costing & Data Analysis
Create, maintain, and analyze specialized production, inventory, and costing reports.
Gather and interpret operational and financial data to support cost reporting and management decision-making.
Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.

Cross-Functional Communication & Support
Serve as a key liaison between production supervisors, logistics, procurement, and leadership to ensure alignment on project status and priorities.
Communicate production progress, constraints, and schedule impacts clearly and proactively.
Assist in the preparation of bids, proposals, and project planning documentation.

Travel & Off-Site Coordination
Oversee travel arrangements and logistics for off-site personnel working at customer facilities.
Support coordination of warranty parts replacements with customers and vendors.

Leadership & People Management
Directly supervise subordinate personnel, including hiring, workload planning, task delegation, training, and performance management.
Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Initiate corrective or disciplinary actions when necessary, in accordance with company policies.

Continuous Improvement
Support cross-functional initiatives and process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and on-time delivery performance.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational objectives.

Required Qualifications
7+ years of directly related experience in production administration, operations, scheduling, or materials management.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production scheduling or materials-driven environment.
Working knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; MS Access experience is a plus.
Proven supervisory and leadership experience.
Strong analytical, follow-up, and tracking skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
