We are seeking a Production Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Escondido, CA within the automotive and parts manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing professional who enjoys keeping production moving, supporting assembly teams, improving quality, and helping ensure tools, parts, and materials are ready when needed.
The Production Manager will play a key role on the production floor, working closely with the Shop Foreman, Production Manager, Production Assembly Associates, and Operations Leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Check in daily with Production Assembly Associates to confirm tools, parts, and supplies are available for assigned jobs, resolving or escalating shortages as needed.
- Coordinate with production leadership to stage tools, parts, and materials ahead of scheduled work to help prevent delays.
- Perform quality control inspections on completed jobs, verifying work against build specifications and quality standards before sign-off.
- Document QC results and communicate defects, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities to Operations Leadership.
- Support daily production coordination by relaying priorities, schedule changes, and process updates to the production floor.
- Assist with receiving, inventory organization, stock monitoring, assembly, packaging, shipping, and general production support as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Location: Escondido, CA.
- Support daily production floor coordination across assembly, quality control, inventory, and job readiness.
- Inspect completed production work to confirm accuracy, quality, and compliance with build specifications.
- Track tools, parts, materials, and supply needs across multiple active jobs.
- Communicate production priorities, shortages, QC findings, and process concerns to leadership.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in production or manufacturing assembly required.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant manufacturing, production, operations, or plant floor experience preferred based on the level of the role.
- Exposure to quality control, inspection processes, or production support activities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, missed specifications, or process issues.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and support multiple production jobs at once.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to work effectively with assembly associates, shop leadership, production management, and operations leadership.
- Proactive, dependable, and able to work independently while keeping leadership informed.
- Commitment to safe work practices, clean work areas, reliable attendance, and consistent work quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in quality control, inspection, or a similar production support role.
- Experience in automotive, parts manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Ability to support onboarding by reinforcing tool locations, supply processes, safety expectations, and quality standards.
- Experience assisting with receiving, inventory control, packaging, shipping, or materials organization.
