Production Manager – Food Manufacturing
Full-Time | On-Site | Location: Hanford, CA | Pay $105K - $125K

AppleOne is recruiting an experienced Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations in a fast paced food processing production environment. This role oversees production schedules, ensures operational efficiency, enforces safety and food safety standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong leadership experience in manufacturing, excellent knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSMA, FSSC 22000, and a passion for building high performing teams while delivering safe, high quality products on time.

Key Responsibilities
Production Operations Management
• Lead daily production activities to ensure products are manufactured, packed, and shipped on time according to customer specifications.
• Execute and monitor production schedules to maximize labor, equipment, and resource utilization.
• Oversee all manufacturing operations through reports, team meetings, and direct floor presence.
• Ensure smooth workflow across production, packaging, logistics, and supporting departments.

Equipment & Facility Management
• Support maintenance teams to ensure optimal performance of production equipment.
• Assist with capital equipment upgrades, facility improvements, and major repair planning.
• Recommend and coordinate plant layout changes to improve workflow and efficiency.
• Track ongoing projects and provide monthly progress updates.
Safety, Compliance & Food Safety
• Lead and enforce OSHA safety programs, hazard control, and safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSMA, and FSSC 22000 food safety and quality standards.
• Monitor regulatory requirements related to safety, environmental impact, and food manufacturing.
• Conduct and document accident investigations, near misses, and corrective actions.
• Promote strong housekeeping and sanitation practices throughout the plant.
Financial & Operational Performance
• Monitor production labor costs, productivity metrics, and budgeted operational targets.
• Identify cost saving opportunities and support long term financial performance.
• Ensure production activities align with company budget requirements and performance goals.

Leadership & Employee Development
• Provide leadership to production supervisors and manufacturing teams.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support coaching, mentoring, and skill development.
• Partner with HR on job descriptions, staffing needs, employee relations, and disciplinary actions.
• Build a positive and collaborative work environment that supports continuous learning and teamwork.

Qualifications_

• Bachelor’s degree required; Food Science, Dairy Science, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of production management experience in a manufacturing or food manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSMA; PCQI/HACCP certifications preferred
• Experience with process improvement, Lean, CI, or operational optimization programs
• Proficient using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
