Job Summary

We are seeking a Product Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Fremont, CA. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who enjoys hands-on manufacturing support, production process improvement, test automation, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

The Product Engineer will support production readiness from Pilot through Mass Production, helping improve quality, yield, efficiency, and manufacturability. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Engineering teams in a fast-paced production environment where teamwork, training, and continuous improvement are valued.

This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer who wants to build technical depth, contribute to product quality, support new product configurations, and help production teams succeed through clear processes, effective training, and strong execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Create, maintain, and update SOPs, work instructions, QC checklists, and production documentation for Pilot and Mass Production.
- Analyze production test logs, test results, and manufacturing procedures to identify opportunities to improve quality, yield, efficiency, and cost.
- Support engineering changes, including ECNs and ECOs, while coordinating documentation, training, production schedules, and labor standards.
- Build, modify, and maintain test automation tools, scripts, and fixtures to support production testing and troubleshooting.
- Develop Proof of Concept product builds for new configurations, sales support, and customer-specific requirements.
- Train production teams and cross-functional departments on new processes, tools, SOPs, engineering changes, and POC learnings.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $36.00 to $37.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support Pilot and Mass Production readiness through SOPs, work instructions, QC checklists, and production documentation.
- Manage and support engineering changes while balancing production schedules, training needs, and labor standards.
- Analyze production test results and manufacturing processes to improve yield, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Build and support test automation tools, scripts, fixtures, and POC product configurations.

- 1 to 2 years of experience as a Production Engineer, Product Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or related manufacturing engineering role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronic, or Computing Engineering.
- Knowledge of computer hardware specifications and system-level components.
- Familiarity with production methods, manufacturing processes, SOPs, quality standards, and production documentation.
- Required knowledge of Linux-based platforms and working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot production test issues related to hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail in documentation, testing, process execution, and production support.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with test automation, scripting, and production testing.
- Knowledge of MES systems.
- Experience with repair processes and troubleshooting in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience supporting POC builds, new product configurations, or customer-specific manufacturing requirements.
