A growing wholesale and retail company is seeking an experienced Product Development Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of new product creation, from concept through production. This individual will play a key role in developing innovative, market-ready products that reflect the brand’s identity while ensuring profitability, quality, and timely delivery.
You’ll collaborate closely with company leadership, factory partners, and the sales team to bring creative concepts to life, manage sourcing, and maintain strong vendor relationships both domestically and overseas. Located in North County San Diego. Full-time, Monday-Friday. $60,000-$80,000DOE
Key Responsibilities:
-Oversee the full product development process from concept through production and delivery
-Manage vendor and factory relationships, ensuring quality standards, timelines, and target margins are achieved
Source and negotiate with new and existing suppliers to maintain competitive pricing and reliability
-Collaborate with leadership, operations, and sales teams to align creative direction, costing, and production goals
-Maintain accurate product data, tech packs, and catalog information across systems
-Monitor costing and margin performance for both wholesale and retail channels
-Provide product training and updates to sales teams as needed
Mentor and support product development staff to meet deadlines and company objectives
Qualifications:
-5–10 years in product development or sourcing within a wholesale, retail, or consumer goods environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field preferred.
-Strong background in product lifecycle management, vendor relations, and costing.
-Proficient in Excel, ERP systems, and Adobe Creative Suite (tech pack experience a plus).
-Highly organized, adaptable, and collaborative communicator with leadership experience.
-Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
