Procurement Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join a growing team in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in purchasing, supplier management, supplier audits, scorecard reporting, and inventory support within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
This is a great opportunity for a procurement professional who knows how to balance cost, quality, lead times, and supplier performance while supporting internal operations and production needs.
Key Responsibilities
Manage purchasing and procurement of goods and services
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
Review purchase orders and acknowledgements for pricing, accuracy, and delivery
Expedite materials with suppliers to meet operational needs
Resolve supplier and receiving discrepancies
Set up new suppliers in the ERP system
Conduct or support supplier audits
Develop and maintain supplier scorecards and performance metrics
Monitor lead times, backorders, delays, and supply risks
Support inventory planning, safety stock, and order quantity optimization
Negotiate pricing, freight terms, and supplier agreements
Partner with internal teams to resolve supplier escalations and improve supply chain performance
Maintain accurate product and vendor data
Support continuous improvement, cost savings, and procurement process enhancements
Follow Quality Management System (QMS) procedures as required
Qualifications
5 to 7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, planning, inventory control, warehousing, or distribution
Experience within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry
Hands-on experience with supplier audits
Experience creating and managing supplier scorecards
Strong management skills and the ability to lead initiatives or coordinate across teams
Experience negotiating supplier pricing and terms
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems, ideally P21
Preferred Experience
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with freight claims, inbound shipments, and carrier coordination
Knowledge of inventory planning, safety stock, and supplier performance tracking
Experience working in a regulated or quality-driven environment
