Operator/Mechanic IV aka Flexographic Printer Operator

Pay Rate: $30/hr
Duration: 1 year (Possible extension)
General Description of Duties:
• Operate 1-4 color Flexographic printing presses
• Print and slit Tyvek® and other films
• Ensure that product manufactured meets specifications, on time, and within budget
• Assist Printing/Slitting Supervisor in all tasks as required
• Perform preventive maintenance on printing and slitting related equipment
• Source and re-stock printed materials
• Ship and receive products as a back-up for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk (QSD JD 011).
• Final preparation of finished goods for shipping.
o Assemble shipping boxes (fold and tape)
o Close and seal loaded boxes for shipping
o Verify customer information and affix shipping label
o Affix Quality Inspection label on box
o When appropriate, place loaded boxes on pallets
o Move boxes to quarantine area to await shipment
• Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Attention to detail
• Hand eye coordination
• Ability to focus for long periods of time
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills
• English language skills (written and spoken)
• Able to lift and carry 50.0 lbs. or more
• Able to stand 6-8 hours daily
• Able to visually recognize colors and particulate as small as 0.8 sq. mm.
• Successfully complete the following training:
o HRP 100 Employee Handbook Training.
o NWB0044-New Employee Training.
o FL0024-Forklift Certification.
o LO0026-Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures.
Education Requirements:
• High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
• 1+ year(s) of Flexographic or Offset printing experience
• Apprenticeship or prior technical training preferred
Qualifications:
• Certified by supervisor to be qualified to perform duties of this job
