Portfolio Analyst — Succession Track to Portfolio Manager
Hybrid | Minimum 2 Days In-Office

The Opportunity
This role is built for a curious, disciplined thinker who enjoys markets, data, and decision-making, and wants to see their work directly shape real client portfolios. You will start with hands-on analysis and implementation responsibilities, then progressively take on greater ownership of portfolio design, risk management, and investment decision-making. Over time, this role is designed to evolve into a full Portfolio Manager position.

Work Arrangement
Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in-office)

What You’ll Do:

Portfolio & Market Analysis

  • Perform daily analysis of existing quantitative trading systems and investment models
  • Monitor economic indicators, market trends, and regime shifts
  • Maintain and enhance proprietary quantitative and economic models

Implementation & Execution

  • Implement model trades across multiple investment platforms
  • Analyze taxable accounts and recommend tax-efficient implementation strategies
  • Review prospective client portfolios to identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with financial advisors on appropriate asset allocations
  • Participate in client and advisor meetings to explain investment models and positioning
  • Meet with external fund managers to discuss strategies and market outlooks

Research & Innovation

  • Develop ideas for new trading systems with the research team
  • Design, test, and refine new quantitative strategies
  • Analyze potential investments for inclusion within investment models

Education & Content

  • Create investment-related content for the firm’s blog and social media platforms
  • Help educate clients and advisors through clear, thoughtful market commentary

What We’re Looking For

Core Qualifications

  • Strong analytical mindset with a foundation in statistics (regression, probability, hypothesis testing, time-series analysis)
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills with a client-first mindset

Experience & Credentials (Preferred)

  • CFA designation a plus (candidates expected to begin the CFA program within 12 months, with employer support)
  • 5+ years of investment experience
  • Experience with tools such as Morningstar Direct, MoneyGuidePro, or similar platforms
  • Exposure to programming languages such as Python (or strong willingness to learn)
  • Interest in pursuing additional certifications (CFA, CFP®, CKA®)

Who Thrives Here
This role is a strong fit for someone who:

  • Enjoys understanding why markets move, not just reacting to headlines
  • Thinks in systems, probabilities, and risk management rather than predictions
  • Wants increasing responsibility over time, not constant job-hopping
  • Is intellectually curious, humble, and comfortable saying, “Let’s test that”
  • Values mentorship and long-term career development over short-term flash
