Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Plastic Product Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Auburn, WA. This role is ideal for a results-driven product management professional with a background in plastics manufacturing, product development, and cross-functional collaboration.
The Plastic Product Manager will lead the full lifecycle of plastic product lines, from concept and design through manufacturing, launch, performance tracking, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of plastic products, including concept development, commercialization, launch, and ongoing product improvements.
- Develop and execute product strategies that align with business goals, customer requirements, profitability targets, and market opportunities.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify product trends, growth opportunities, customer needs, and new product ideas.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, sales, and marketing teams on product design, materials selection, process improvements, and product launches.
- Analyze product performance, pricing, profitability, market share, forecasting, and inventory needs to support business growth.
- Coordinate product specifications, technical documentation, change requests, enhancements, and product roadmap planning.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage plastic product lifecycle initiatives from concept through manufacturing, market launch, and optimization.
- Lead cross-functional product development projects involving engineering, operations, quality, sales, marketing, and customers.
- Support pricing, forecasting, inventory planning, product performance analysis, and profitability improvement.
- Serve as the primary product contact for internal teams and customers regarding product questions, requirements, specifications, and changes.
- 3+ years of product management experience, preferably in plastics manufacturing or a related manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Polymer Science, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of plastic materials, manufacturing processes, product development, and production operations.
- Experience with product lifecycle management, forecasting, inventory management, and cross-functional project coordination.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, sales, marketing, and customer-facing teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, presentation, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with extrusion, injection molding, thermoforming, packaging, or custom plastic manufacturing processes.
- Technical knowledge of polymers, resins, and plastic product applications.
- MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
- Experience in industrial, consumer, packaging, medical device, automotive, construction-related plastics, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing environments.
