We are seeking a dependable Plant Operator for an onsite contract opportunity in Savannah, GA. This role supports day-to-day plant operations, including bulk loading, packaging, cleaning, equipment support, and basic maintenance in a manufacturing and production environment.
This is a strong opportunity for candidates with 1 to 2 years of plant, production, warehouse, or manufacturing experience who want to build practical skills in an industrial setting. Training will be provided, including forklift-related training as needed. The work environment is team-oriented, safety-focused, and built around consistent communication, hands-on support, and reliable operational processes.
The ideal Plant Operator is safety-minded, comfortable working a rotating 12-hour schedule, and ready to contribute to efficient, clean, and organized plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Load bulk trucks using hoses, pumps, and plant loading systems.
- Fill and prepare package orders, including super sacks and related production materials.
- Operate forklifts and other basic plant equipment with provided training as needed.
- Perform basic maintenance, housekeeping, and general plant upkeep.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the shift.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements and site protocols.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $27 to $28 per hour.
- Job Type: 1-year contract with possible extension.
- Schedule: 12-hour DuPont rotating shift.
- Shift Hours: 6 AM to 6 PM and 6 PM to 6 AM.
- Work Setting: Onsite in Savannah, GA.
- Schedule Requirements: Must be comfortable working overnights, weekends, and holidays as required by the rotating schedule.
- Support bulk loading, packaging, cleaning, and general plant operations.
- Operate or learn to operate forklifts, pumps, hoses, and loading systems.
- Perform basic maintenance and plant housekeeping duties.
- Follow safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and operational instructions.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 to 2 years of manufacturing, plant, production, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety practices required.
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to pass the required online assessment and medical/CHR screening.
- Dependable attendance, strong attention to detail, and ability to work safely in a team-based plant environment.
- Comfortable performing hands-on physical work in an onsite manufacturing or production setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, plant operations, chemical plant, packaging, or bulk loading experience.
- Forklift experience.
- Pump, hose, or loading system experience.
- Experience working in a safety-focused industrial environment.
