Planning Manager – Demand Planning Focus (Consumer Goods/Tech Industry)

We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager with a strong background in demand planning and supply chain process improvement. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership opportunity in a fast-paced, multi-site distribution environment, ideal for professionals who thrive on driving planning excellence and enabling data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and continuous improvement of demand planning processes to optimize service levels and reduce inventory costs.
Analyze sales forecasts vs. actuals and proactively adjust replenishment strategies for high accuracy and alignment with business needs.
Own the planning system, managing upgrades, training, KPI oversight, and system optimization.
Oversee inventory balancing across distribution centers, ensuring efficient stock levels while minimizing transportation and holding costs.
Facilitate cross-functional alignment when supply is constrained, working with internal partners to resolve gaps between demand and availability.
Implement and monitor planning performance metrics to identify areas for operational efficiency gains.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planners, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
Partner with Sales, IT, Accounting, and Fulfillment teams to ensure robust forecasting, seamless ERP data integration, and real-time inventory visibility.
Support lifecycle management and supply chain visibility efforts related to product status, vendor updates, and internal planning communications.
Execute supply chain and planning improvement projects with minimal oversight and high stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of planning experience, preferably in distribution, consumer electronics, or consumer goods.
Strong expertise in demand planning and statistical forecasting tools.
Proven leadership experience managing planning teams and cross-functional projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
Experience working within an ERP environment; proficiency with planning systems
Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and analytical tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
Background in retail planning, logistics, inventory, or consulting strongly preferred.
