This Pipe Fitter Mechanic Position Features:
Salary: $83,200 - $114,400 ($40/hr – $55/hr)
Location: Connecticut
Full-time Permanent
Qualifications:
• Valid CT Trade License – S-1 or S-2 required
• OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 Certification required
• Certified for Scissor and Boom Lift operation preferred
• Ability to accurately interpret blueprints, specifications, and coordinated drawings
• Experience installing and repairing HVAC piping systems and equipment
• Knowledge of copper, black steel, and Victaulic piping systems
• Skilled in grooving, cutting, threading, soldering, and brazing piping
• Experience with refrigerant piping installation and repair
• Familiarity with air handlers, condensing units, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, VRF systems, and heat exchangers
• Ability to test piping systems and equipment for leaks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
• Ability to work safely and promote safe working practices
• Must possess reliable transportation and valid CT Driver’s License
• Ability to climb ladders and stairwells and work at heights
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Commercial HVAC and mechanical construction experience preferred
Responsibilities:
• Install, repair, and replace copper, black steel, and Victaulic piping systems
• Install and service HVAC equipment including boilers, chillers, air handlers, VRF systems, cooling towers, and condensing units
• Install supports and hangers for piping and HVAC equipment
• Locate and mark positions for piping penetrations and equipment placement
• Install, repair, and replace refrigerant piping systems
• Perform grooving, threading, soldering, brazing, and pipe cutting operations
• Test pipe systems and HVAC equipment for leaks and proper functionality
• Rig and offload heavy HVAC equipment and materials
• Follow project plans, specifications, and all applicable trade/building codes
• Maintain required PPE and safe working practices at all times
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
• Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to company standards
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
• Perform general housekeeping and additional duties as assigned by management
