Pharmacy Outreach Specialist (Healthcare Engagement)

We are partnering with a growing healthcare-focused organization seeking motivated individuals to support patient outreach initiatives. This role plays a key part in improving medication adherence and overall patient outcomes by engaging directly with patients, providers, and pharmacies.
This is a fast-paced, metrics-driven position ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume call environment, communicates effectively, and enjoys helping others navigate healthcare-related needs.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Engagement & Outreach
-Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls with patients, medical offices, and pharmacies
-Guide patients through conversations focused on improving medication adherence and overall care compliance
-Identify common barriers such as cost concerns, transportation challenges, forgetfulness, or lack of understanding
-Use strong communication and influencing skills to encourage patients to follow prescribed treatment plans
-Address hesitation or resistance through education, empathy, and active listening
-Coordinate with providers and pharmacies to support timely prescription fulfillment
-Accurately record all interactions, outcomes, and follow-ups in internal systems
-Consistently meet or exceed established performance goals
Workflow & Continuous Improvement
-Navigate multiple systems including call center platforms and electronic health records
-Manage time effectively while handling competing priorities throughout the day
-Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and team development sessions
-Contribute ideas to improve workflows, processes, and overall team performance
-Build knowledge around healthcare quality measures and patient engagement strategies
Team Collaboration
-Communicate clearly with team members regarding progress, challenges, and updates
-Meet deadlines and maintain accountability across assigned tasks
-Share best practices and support peers to help achieve team and departmental goals
Qualifications
Required:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-At least 1 year of experience in a call center, customer service, healthcare, or pharmacy-related role
-Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
-Ability to build rapport and confidently handle objections
-Comfortable using computers, phone systems, and documentation tools
-Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
-Flexible to work schedules aligned with Eastern Time, including potential evenings and occasional Saturdays
Preferred:
-Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
-Pharmacy Technician certification or active license
-Bilingual (English/Spanish)
-Experience working within healthcare systems or electronic medical records
-Availability to 8 hour work shifts between 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM EST
