Job Title: Permit Clerk
Location: Punta Gorda, FL 33950
Pay: $65,000 – $75,000 annually (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permit Clerk to support the permitting process for new home construction. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all paperwork and documentation related to permits, ensuring timely submissions, and acting as a liaison between clients, internal teams, and local municipalities.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have exceptional follow-up skills, and be comfortable managing a high volume of permits (60–80 at a time) while maintaining accuracy and meeting critical deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and submit all permit applications and supporting documents
Coordinate with local municipalities to track application status and resolve issues
Maintain detailed records of permit progress and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items
Communicate regularly with clients, construction teams, and government agencies regarding permit status
Proactively manage multiple permits at various stages of approval
Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements and company standards
Handle scheduling, updates, and modifications to permits as needed
Provide excellent customer service and support to homeowners throughout the permitting process
Qualifications:
Proven experience in permit processing, construction administration, or a related clerical role
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage a high-volume workload and meet strict deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Confident in following up with municipalities and internal departments
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a dynamic environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and permit management systems is a plus
Additional Information:
On-site position — remote work is not available
Must be comfortable working in a deadline-driven, high-volume setting
Knowledge of local permitting processes and requirements in Florida is highly desirable
