We are seeking a detail-oriented payroll and business analyst. This role supports payroll production, reporting, reconciliation, and data analysis across two affiliated organizations in a large, multi-location environment.
The Production Business Analyst is ideal for someone who enjoys working with payroll data, Excel reports, deadlines, and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle payroll on a bi-weekly or monthly schedule for hourly and salaried employees across two affiliated organizations.
- Calculate and process on-cycle payrolls, off-cycle payrolls, and final pay in compliance with applicable state payroll requirements.
- Reconcile payroll data before transmission and validate post-processing reports for accuracy.
- Coordinate payroll calendars, deadlines, and processing schedules across multiple entities.
- Maintain and reconcile payroll data using payroll software and Microsoft Excel reports.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies by partnering with internal teams, managers, or employees.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $29 to $30 per hour.
- Job Type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Location: March Air Reserve Base, CA.
- Process full-cycle payroll for multiple entities on a bi-weekly or monthly schedule.
- Reconcile payroll data, validate payroll reports, and support payroll transmission accuracy.
- Build and maintain payroll summaries, variance analyses, headcount reports, and ad hoc reporting.
- Investigate payroll discrepancies and coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant administrative, payroll, business analyst, or payroll operations experience.
- Working knowledge of payroll processing, payroll reconciliation, final pay, and off-cycle payroll procedures.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, and basic formulas.
- Ability to work with varying pay structures, benefits packages, and accrual policies.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, follow-through, and deadline management.
- Ability to handle confidential payroll and employee information professionally.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and employees.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting payroll for multiple entities, departments, locations, or business units.
- Experience with payroll registers, labor distribution reports, headcount reporting, and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with large, complex organizations such as multi-campus, healthcare, research, government, or public-sector environments.
- Prior experience using payroll software, HRIS platforms, or Excel-based payroll trackers.
