A growing company in Carlsbad is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Accounting Specialist to support payroll processing and accounts payable/accounts receivable functions. This position is ideal for an organized accounting professional who works accurately, handles confidential information responsibly, and enjoys supporting multiple areas of the accounting department.


Key Responsibilities

* Process payroll accurately and on schedule.

* Review employee hours, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, and payroll adjustments.

* Maintain payroll records and respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and timekeeping.

* Review, code, and process vendor invoices and employee expense reports.

* Prepare vendor payments and maintain accurate accounts payable records.

* Generate customer invoices, apply incoming payments, and monitor outstanding accounts receivable balances.

* Communicate with employees, customers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve payroll, billing, and payment discrepancies.

* Reconcile payroll reports, vendor statements, bank activity, and general ledger accounts.

* Assist with journal entries, month-end closing activities
