Payroll Specialist – Construction Industry (Hybrid Schedule)
Located in Encinitas, CA | Full-Time | $25-30/hr DOE | Hybrid (Office & Remote)
Are you a payroll expert who thrives on accuracy and compliance? We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team and take ownership of payroll operations in a fast-paced, construction-focused environment.
This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to ensure every paycheck is processed smoothly and on time—while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.
What You’ll Do:
-Lead weekly payroll processing for hourly & salaried employees using Paylocity
-Manage prevailing wage calculations, fringe benefits, and certified payroll reporting (ICP Tracker & DIR required)
-Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage laws, including prevailing wage regulations
-Maintain and update employee payroll records, tax info, deductions, and benefits
-Generate certified payroll reports for projects and support audits & year-end reporting (W-2s, ACA, etc.)
-Act as the go-to resource for employees with payroll questions or discrepancies
What We’re Looking For:
-Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist (construction industry highly preferred)
-Proficiency with Paylocity – required
-Hands-on experience with prevailing wage payroll, ICP Tracker & DIR – required
-Familiarity with HRIS systems for maintaining employee records
-Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
-Clear and professional communication skills – able to support employees at all levels
