Overview:
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to support end-to-end payroll processing in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll, maintaining compliance with regulations, and partnering closely with HR and accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees on a regular schedule
• Review and audit timekeeping data, earnings, deductions, and benefits for accuracy
• Maintain employee payroll records and update changes such as new hires, terminations, and status updates
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
• Handle payroll tax filings, garnishments, and year-end reporting (W-2s)
• Reconcile payroll accounts and support month-end and year-end close
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies
• Partner with HR and finance to ensure accurate data flow and reporting
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and maintain payroll documentation
Qualifications:
• Experience processing payroll in a high-volume or multi-state environment
• Knowledge of payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, or similar
• Understanding of payroll taxes, compliance, and reporting requirements
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient in Excel for reporting and data analysis
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred:
• CPP certification or working toward certification
• Experience with ERP or HRIS systems
• Background supporting audits or payroll process improvements
