We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Union Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for processing complex, multi-state payroll in a union environment, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), certified payroll requirements, and varying state and local regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical payroll expertise, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
Process weekly and/or bi-weekly multi-state payroll for union and non-union employees
Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), including wages, fringes, deductions, and union rules
Ensure compliance with federal, multi-state, and local payroll tax regulations
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with prevailing wage laws (e.g., Davis-Bacon)
Manage union benefit calculations, including health, pension, dues, and other fringe contributions
Track and apply varying state tax rates, reciprocity rules, and local jurisdiction requirements
Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll inquiries
Maintain accurate payroll records and audit-ready documentation
Collaborate with HR, accounting, and project teams to ensure payroll accuracy across multiple locations
Support internal and external audits, including union and government audits

Qualifications
3–5+ years of payroll experience, with a strong emphasis on union and multi-state payroll processing
In-depth knowledge of prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting
Strong understanding of multi-state payroll tax laws and compliance requirements
Experience working with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)
Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar platforms)
Advanced Excel skills and high attention to detail
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in construction, manufacturing, or other union-based industries
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation
Experience processing high-volume payroll across multiple states and job sites
