This Payroll Specialist Position Features:
• Temp to Hire (2.5 months contract)
• Decatur, IL - On-site
• Mon-Fri; 8am-5pm
• Great Pay to $20/hr
Job Responsibilities:
- Process US and Canadian payroll, with accuracy and timeliness
- Apply discretion in decision-making for maintaining compliance as well as a high level of customer service, and ensure accurate payroll processing
- Approach process and system with a continuous improvement mindset
- Complete and balance all required payroll reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness
- Complete accurately Form 941, W2, T4, and other relevant tax documentation for all subsidiaries
- Maintain data compliantly and securely
- Ensure accurate process documentation inclusive of manuals and SOP’s
- Provide guidance and support to employees timely, accurately and professionally
- Serve as secondary processor for US and Canadian non-exempt payrolls
- Collaborate with management and other departments across the organization for top notch customer service
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of general office/accounting experience; payroll experience preferred
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Intermediate understanding of accounting/mathematical procedures is required
- Strong strategic thinking and a firm attention to detail are a must
- Excellent communication skills in writing and speaking forms
- Special projects may be given to help support management metrics
- Knowledge of IBM (CICS & IMS) and MDM systems
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
