About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our growing team in Washington State. This is a fully on-site role open exclusively to Washington State residents. This position plays a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and compliance for our employees.

You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative department that supports internal growth and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for 200+ employees in accordance with company policies and federal/state regulations

Ensure compliance with all wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and internal audit controls

Maintain payroll records and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and deductions

Prepare and distribute reports for Finance and HR departments

Partner with HR to maintain employee data integrity and support onboarding/offboarding activities

Support year-end processing, including W-2s, ACA compliance, and audit preparation

Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance

Qualifications:
Must be a current Washington State resident

2–4+ years of experience in a Payroll Specialist or similar role

Strong understanding of multi-state payroll laws, including Washington regulations

Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, UKG (UltiPro), Paycom, or Workday

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)

Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills

Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Certifications Preferred (Not Required):
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) – American Payroll Association

Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)

Experience with ERP systems like Oracle or SAP is a plus

Exposure to enterprise-level payroll operations in companies such as Alaska Airlines, Microsoft, or Amazon is highly valued
