AppleOne has partnered with an Engineering and Environmental firm to hire a Payroll Clerk. Must have Deltek experience and be proficient with MS Excel.
Job Title: Payroll Clerk
Location: Corona, CA (in office)
Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday (hours can vary from 32-40 hours per week)
Pay rate: $28 - $32 an hour depending on education and experience
Job Duties:
• Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for 30 employees by collecting, calculating, and verifying timekeeping data and timesheets.
• In conjunction with our Labor Compliance clerk, manage prevailing wage requirements for specific projects, ensuring accurate calculation of employee pay rates and fringe benefits according to Department of Labor (DOL) guidelines and project-specific regulations.
• Utilize Deltek Vantagepoint to efficiently administer payroll activities, maintain accurate employee records, run payroll processing logs, and generate relevant financial reports and analyses.
• Calculate and process all payroll deductions, insurance, 401(k) contributions, and wage garnishments, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. NOTE: A third-party payroll processing company processes company's federal and state income taxes, social security, tax filings, and reports (e.g., Forms 940, 941, W-2s, 1099s).
• Reconcile payroll data with internal timekeeping records, bank statements, and the general ledger to investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Respond to all employee inquiries and management requests regarding payroll, benefits, and timekeeping in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records by accurately entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, job titles, department transfers, and pay rates.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
