**Payroll Assistant (2–3 Month Contract) – San Carlos, CA**

Join a collaborative and fast-paced HR/Payroll team as our next **Payroll Assistant** We’re looking for a detail-driven, resourceful professional to support bi-weekly payroll operations using our PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This short-term contract role is perfect for someone who enjoys accuracy, problem-solving, and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.

**What You’ll Do**

* Support bi-weekly payroll processing, including wage calculations, deductions, and adjustments
* Enter and maintain employee data (new hires, terminations, salary changes, tax updates)
* Review and audit timecards using the PeopleSoft Time & Labor module
* Manage employee leave entries (PTO, sick time, FMLA)
* Assist with processing garnishments and other mandated deductions
* Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality
* Provide clerical support such as filing, record maintenance, and operating office equipment
* Generate internal payroll reports and support compliance requirements

**What We’re Looking For**

* High School diploma or GED
* Experience in payroll processing or administrative support (preferred)
* PeopleSoft HCM experience, especially Time & Labor (highly preferred)
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking
* Familiarity with payroll regulations and basic accounting concepts
