Payroll Administrator (Accountant III) - Direct Hire

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator with ADP experience to join their finance team, supporting payroll operations for a large, international workforce. This role reports to the Payroll Supervisor and works alongside payroll processors to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing and related accounting functions.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of payroll experience, strong knowledge of accounting principles (including expenses and accruals), and an accounting degree. The Payroll Administrator will serve as a key resource for employees at all levels, manage payroll processing, troubleshoot errors, and assist with employee onboarding and training.

This is a direct hire opportunity managed by our recruitment team, and the selected candidate will be a full-time employee of the client.

Key Responsibilities
- Process biweekly payroll and maintain accurate records in ADP Workforce Now
- Administer payroll for employees, including onboarding, training on timekeeping systems, and troubleshooting issues
- Audit and reconcile payroll, benefits, and deductions
- Prepare and monitor third-party payments, including payroll taxes, retirement contributions, flexible spending accounts, and garnishments
- Assist with payroll-related accounting tasks, such as expense and accrual understanding
- Generate and review reports for internal use and external filing (e.g., tax and regulatory reports)
- Serve as backup for the Payroll Supervisor as needed
- Maintain personnel files and assist with audits, compliance, and reporting
- Collaborate effectively with other team members and maintain strong communication with employees at all levels

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- 4+ years of payroll experience (equivalent to Accountant III level)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll software preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including payroll, expenses, and accruals
- Confident and professional demeanor when interacting with employees at all levels
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines

- 100% in-office at Renton, WA; occasional remote work considered in special circumstances
- Flexible start times within the 7 AM – 6 PM window
