A well-established multi-location organization in Fresno is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator with a strong background in payroll processing, multi-site payroll management, and compliance with federal/state wage and hour laws.
This role requires hands-on, professional payroll experience.
Key Responsibilities
Process semi-monthly, multi-location payroll including regular hours, overtime, commissions, bonuses, and adjustments.
Review and validate employee timecards; follow up with managers for missing punches or approvals.
Reconcile payroll registers, general ledger payroll accounts, and prepare payroll journal entries.
Maintain accurate payroll records for active and terminated employees.
Ensure full compliance with California Labor Code, wage & hour laws, FLSA, tax regulations, and local ordinances.
Coordinate with HR regarding new hires, terminations, pay changes, and benefit deductions.
Provide payroll support for audits and supply required documentation.
Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on payroll processing experience
(preferably in a multi-location or high-volume environment).
Strong knowledge of California payroll laws, wage & hour regulations, meal/rest break compliance, and tax withholding rules.
Experience using payroll software such as Paylocity, ADP, UKG, Paychex, or similar.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
Strong communication and customer service skills, able to work collaboratively with HR and multiple department managers.
