AppleOne is proud to partner with a well-established organization in Lake Mary, FL seeking a Payroll & HR Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, onsite role offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in both payroll operations and human resources.
About the Role
In this role, you will manage the bi-weekly payroll for approximately 400 employees, ensure compliance with tax laws and Workers’ Compensation codes, and process invoices with precision. You will also play a vital role in HR functions such as onboarding, recruiting, employee engagement, and maintaining confidential staff information.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can pivot quickly between priorities, and is eager to contribute to a collaborative team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
Process bi-weekly payroll for ~400 employees accurately and on time
Ensure compliance with tax laws and Workers’ Compensation codes
Oversee invoice processing and assist with monthly P&L reporting (training provided if needed)
Maintain payroll records and resolve discrepancies promptly
Human Resources
Coordinate and conduct employee onboarding
Support recruiting efforts and employee engagement initiatives
Assist with performance reviews and HR-related projects
Handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion
What We’re Looking For
Proven payroll experience, including tax law and WC code knowledge
HR experience in onboarding, recruiting, and employee relations
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and adaptability
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Degree preferred but not required
Stable work history – no frequent job changes
